Which cartoons can help me learn English?
Cartoons are great; they’re fun, simple, colourful and relaxing (normally). We know that they’re not always relaxing, like when Shaggy sees a ghost, or SpongeBob has to make 1000 burgers in one day.
But one of the best things about cartoons is that they can help you improve your English. If you are a beginner, watch with subtitles; if you are intermediate+, watch without subtitles; you can thank us later.
So we recommend starting with Peppa Pig or Bluey. Both are beginner-level, and their speeds are nice and slow. They are both family shows, so there’s nothing too scary or shocking; put your feet up (relax) and enjoy problem-solving episodes.
Secondly, for more intermediate students, Hey Arnold! and SpongeBob should test your brain. Hey Arnold! is a comedy-drama; things can get tense (not really). While SpongeBob is a comedy (it’s funny). I often accidentally spit my tea out because I’m laughing too much.
And finally, Kim Possible and Scooby Doo will not only have your heart racing (going very fast) or you on the edge of your seat, but also help your English skills.
All these shows are perfect because their episodes are short, so you don’t fall asleep in front of The Incredibles with Doritos hanging out of your mouth.
